Their oyako don is nice and quite authentic!! It has a light but nice taste with delicious sauce and eggs. One of the more authentic oyako dons I've tasted in Singapore and it's worth it. Will come here next time for the Toji and Tonkatsu!! Update: Tried their Toji Pork Loin set. I think the sauce is really nice and is a little different from other places as it has that bit of sweetness which I like.

August 2025 Here for lunch for the second time, and it was still as good. We loved the pork tonkatsu and the deep fried prawns. Great that the rice and cabbage was still free flow. Staff were friendly and the chef smiled and gave a small wave as he walked by. June 2024 Had lunch here with the family and it was a good meal. Most of us chose the pork tonkatsu and they were delish. They came with free refills of sliced cabbage and rice, with soup as well. The pork was fresh, well battered and tasty. The char siu ramen was also great, and my wife loved the broth. Staff were friendly and topped up the cabbage and drinks without being prompted.

I absolutely enjoy having the premium pork loin set. It’s hands down the best tonkatsu I’ve ever had in Singapore. The rice and cabbage that comes with the set are free flow too. The staff is incredibly friendly and even refills the free tea without me having to ask.

Travelled all the way from the west just to try this and it really didn't disappoint! Got the tonkatsu pork loin set and it was good!! There is also free refill of rice and cabbage but tbh I think the set itself was already filling enough for me. Most importantly, the staff have exceptional service attitude and are very attentive. Will definitely come back to try other options next time, maybe ramen! :)

Fancy a bowl of really awesome japanese food? Look no further, located at My village- serangoon garden. Hajime offers the best Japanese food in my opinion. I have ordered the salmon don, in my opinion the best in singapore. Even better than sushi tei etc. The fried salmon skin was also scattered on top of the dish, making it feel like u are having some crackers before digging into the main. There is an onsen egg, not seasoned, maybe they wanted to stress that this is supporting role not main. Salmon was fresh, tasty and just awesome. The condiments added to the dish just make me drool. There is also a soup and watermelon that came with the set. Paid around $20 per set. Understand there is also their signature katsu don and many other dishes such as ramen etc.. Enjoy! Imagine having quality, value-for-money Jap cuisine by SG’s 1st Tonkatsu chef !! Their pork loin is air flown from Japan, sauces are homemade and they have the warmest hospitality. We tried their premium pork loin set, which consists of tender & juicy air-flown Kagoshima Sangen pork, coated in delicate, crisp & non-greasy breadcrumbs. It's paired w crunchy shredded cabbage that’s washed in ice-cold water (best w light Wafu dressing), Niigata rice, Tonjiru soup (MSG-free savoury pork bone broth w veggies & yuzu - we loved this), & ground roasted sesame (add to their Tonkatsu sauce). Their dedication to quality is evident, & for the price?? So damn worth. Also did i mention refillable cabbage and rice? Perfect for big backs. We also enjoyed their Nagoya miso fillet which was also beautifully tender, fried w red wine & tonkotsu broth, paired w miso sauce handpicked from Nagoya. We ordered their ebi fry ramen to try, which entails QQ Nama noodles in a secret Sakura Ebi paste infused w their Tonkotsu base broth, & finished w a dash of chilli oil. This came w freshly-breaded & fried ebi which was pretty decent in flavour & texture. Had a few sides, including: agedashi tofu, which is made with delicate batter infused w yuzu & fried in soybean oil. Refreshingly crisp w/o being too oily. Their torikawa (grilled chicken skin) is crunchy with a juicy interior, and absolutely umami-packed. They also provide complimentary water and tea !! Overall, if you’re looking for exceptional tonkatsus with unbeatable value, this is a must-try :)

Superb value for money with great portions of really nice tonkatsu! The deeply savoury and acidic pickles were also a nice touch as was the vinegrette for the cabbage which lightened the meal as opposed to the usual sesame sauce (also available if you prefer)
